The Southeastern Challenge Match occurs in every "odd" calendar year. The FSGA selects a twelve player team to represent Florida in this biennial competition against Alabama and Georgia consisting of seven Mid-Amateurs (25 and older), two Senior Amateurs (55 and older), two players 50 and older and one player 21 years and older.

• (5) Mid-Amateur players with the highest point totals from the Two Year Points List as of September 20th
• (2) Mid-Amateur players selected by the FSGA Championship Committee
• (1) Amateur player 21 and older selected by the FSGA Championship Committee

Summer is heating up with points up for grabs just about every weekend between now and the end of August. There was a lot of movement on the Non-Senior side in May and the first weekend of June, and there is sure to be more! The 16 players listed below have positioned themselves to make a run on automatic selection based on the points they have earned already, with a busy summer schedule ahead.

1. Marc Dull (pictured right) - The defending Mid-Amateur Player of the Year leads the race, adding more points as him and partner Chip Brooke advanced to the Round of 32 at the US Four-Ball Championship. Next up, Dull will compete at both the Amateur Public Links and Amateur Championships in June.
2. Joe Alfieri (50 & Over Eligible) - Joe continued his steady play at the Mid-Amateur Championship, advancing to the Round of 16 at Quail Valley, and will compete at both the Amateur Public Links and Amateur Championships in June.
3. Chip Brooke - The 2016 Mid-Amateur Champion amassed more points, advancing to the Round of 32 alongside Marc Dull at the US Four-Ball Championship, and will tee it up next at the State Amateur in June.
4. T J Shuart - Shuart has been on fire in May, accumulating 7500 points between a win at the Mid-Amateur Championship, qualifying with Kasey Denesevich for the US Four-Ball Championship, and capturing the Mid-Amateur Four-Ball South alongside Scott Turner
5. Miles McConnell (50 & Over Eligible) -The defending Mid-Senior Champion advanced to match play at May's Mid-Amateur Championship and made the cut at the Florida Senior Open.
6. Scott Turner - The defending Mid-Amatuer Stroke Play Champion will look to win his 2nd Amateur Public Links crown. Turner captured the Mid-Amateur Four-Ball South Championship along with T J Shuart and advanced to match play at the Mid-Amateur.
7. Devon Hopkins - He joins the watch list after advancing to match play at the Mid-Amateur Championship, and then the following week at the US Four-Ball Championship - alongside Matt Kleinrock - advancing to the quarterfinals.
8. Mike Finster (50 & Over Eligible) - Finster has seen much success this year, making the cut at the Florida Senior Open and a T13 at the Mid-Amateur Four-Ball North.
9. Steve Carter - The two-time Mid-Amateur Champion advanced to the Quarterfinals at the Mid-Amateur Championship, and posted a top 10 at the Mid-Amateur Four-Ball North alongside Robert Bechtol, and a runner-up finish at the Two-Man Shoot-Out with Bob Campione.
10. Daniel Eggertsson - So far in 2019, has posted T4 at the Two-Man Shoot-Out and T11 at the Mid-Amatuer Four-Ball South, both alongside Kasey Denesevich, and advanced to the Quarterfinals at the Mid-Amateur Championship.
11. Kasey Denesevich - After a runner-up finish alongside Rick Woulfe at the Senior / Mid-Amateur Four-Ball, has posted T4 at the Two-Man Shoot-Out and T11 at the Mid-Amatuer Four-Ball South, both alongside Daniel Eggertsson, and qualified for the US Four-Ball Championship with T J Shuart.
12. Matt Kleinrock - After advancing to the Round of 16 at last year's Amateur Match Play, Kleinrock started 2019 off hot, reaching the quarterfinals at the US Four-Ball Championship alongside Devon Hopkins.
13. Devin Hernandez - Hernandez advanced to match play in the previous two Mid-Amatuer Championships, qualified for the 2018 US Amateur, and captured the 2018 Mid-Amateur Four-Ball North Championship with Spencer Baldwin, then the duo finished T5 in 2019.
14. Marc France - A qualifier for the 2018 US Mid-Amateur, France has had a steady 2019, capturing the Senior / Mid-Amateur Four-Ball Championship with Tom Kleppe, advancing to match play at the Mid-Amateur Championship, and posting a 5th place finish with Carl Santos-Ocampo at the Mid-Amateur Four-Ball South.
15. Daniel Debra - A lot of steady finishes dating back to 2018, 3rd at the Mid-Senior, capturing the Mid-Senior Four-Ball North, and qualifying for the US Mid-Amateur. Debra's 2019 has seen two solid Four-Ball finishes along with Don Whittemore - T4 at the Senior / Mid-Amateur Four-Ball, and 2nd in a play-off at the Mid-Amateur Four-Ball North.
16. Joey Latowski - In his second consecutive year of advancing to match play at the Mid-Amateur Championship, he reached the finals, before falling to T J Shuart in 21 holes. Latowski and Ben Finley posted at T6 at the Mid-Amateur Four-Ball South.

The next Senior event will be next week at the Senior Amateur Match Play - one of the players near the top can separate from the pack with a win! The 8 Seniors below are within just a 4,000 point spread, with all points this summer counting at 150%, a lot of movement can happen at the Senior Match Play, Mid-Senior Championship, US Senior Amateur, and Mid-Senior Four-Ball Championships.

1. Pete Williams (pictured right) - Williams is the defending Senior Player of the Year and Senior Match Play Champion, posted a top 10 at the Senior Amatuer in April, and made the cut at the Florida Senior Open.
2. Don Whittemore (pictured right) - Whittemore has seen much success in Four-Balls winning the Mid-Senior Four-Ball North (Dan Debra) and Senior Four-Ball (Pete Williams) in 2018, and a top 25 at the Senior Amateur.
3. Jimmy Jones - Jones has been the bridesmaid twice in 2019, first at the Senior / Mid-Amateur Four-Ball with Chip Brooke, and then at the Senior Amateur Championship.
4. Kelly Goose - Goose earned his first individual FSGA win in over a decade at the Senior Amateur Championship and posted T5 at the Mid-Amateur Four-Ball North.
5. Richard Kerper - Kerper ended 2018 advancing to match play at the US Senior Amateur, then avenged a missed cut at the Senior Amateur by finishing 5th at the Florida Senior Open in May.
6. Bill Barnes - The 2018 Senior Amateur Champion lurks on the points list, looking to find success at the upcoming Senior Match Play.
7. Matthew Avril - Riding momentum from qualifying for the 2018 US Mid-Amateur, Avril was the low amateur at the Florida Senior Open, also advanced to Match Play at the Mid-Amateur Championship.
8. David Anthony - David holds an impressive Southeastern Challenge Match record (5-3-2) in two previous appearances and is a match play bulldog. He posted top 10's at both the Mid-Senior Championship & Florida Senior Open last August, and logged a T5 finish at the Senior Amatuer and T29 at the Florida Senior Open this April.
